Share Town is a website to introduce people to the share houses owned by the company Share Design. This website includes a custom built CMS which allows the staff at Share Design to effortlessly add new properties and blog entries to the site whenever the need arises.
I was asked to develop a site which would give an idea to the user what living in a share house is like, with a bright, cartoony feel to it. I felt that the best way to portray all of the above, without overwhelming the user was to make the site in a dynamic grid based style, which automatically shifted into position according to the assigned importance of new entries.
The php based CMS allows staff members to select the size and 'importance' of each entry. This is especially important for this line of business as large share houses (most have over 30 rooms, with some topping 80!) often have high turnover rates, so the houses with availability constantly need to make the biggest impression on the page.
